Understanding Allianz Copayments and Deductibles
A co-payment is a percentage the policyholder will pay for medical treatment, and a deductible is a fixed amount a policyholder will pay towards their medical bills per period of cover before the insurance company begins to contribute.
If you have a copayment with your Allianz plan, this means you be paying a small percentage of your medical bill. For example, if you have a 20% copayment fee, you will be paying 20% of your medical bill and the insurance company will handle the remaining 80%.
Choosing a plan with a lower deductible can raise your premiums, whereas choosing a plan with a higher deductible can lower your premiums. When choosing a deductible, it can be helpful to consider how much medical care you will need over the year.
