What would you recommend for someone living for 6 months in the U.S. and 6 months in the Philippines

Question:
I have clients who want to live in the Phillipines for 6 months and live in the United States for 6 months. What would you recommend for medical insurance – travel insurance or an individual policy and what would the cost be?

Answer:

Hi
Ms. Doreen,

Thanks for the enquiry!  When looking at a plan that covers people in the
U.S. we must select a worldwide policy so their coverage is continuous.  A
travel insurance is not  a good option should they require longer term
treatment for a chronic condition, which can be very risky.  An individual
plan could cover them for day to day medical issues as well as any sort of
treatment that might require longer term treatment, such as cancer or a chronic
heart  condition.

We
work with many companies who could provide worldwide medical insurance
coverage, such as: IHI, HTH Geo Blue, Now Health, Allianz, IMG, Aetna, Cigna,
Nordic and AXA PPP.  The cost would vary on several things, such as the
age and health of the insure, the benefits of the plan (Inpatient, Outpatient,
Dental, Maternity, Emergency Evacuation, Repatriation, ect.) the deductible (if
any) chosen
